About the Authors

Pejathaya and Kerkhoff crossed paths in their 20s and struck up an immediate friendship. The common denominators were working in agriculture and storytelling.  After 45 years these two close friends still communicate long distance on a regular basis.

Born in a remote village on the west coast of India, S.M. Pejathaya wrote about the wild tigers, buffalo and boar that roamed his coconut farm. Pejathaya’s many experiences include managing an inland dry land farm for a major Indian bank and working on a coffee farm in the highlands of South India. He wrote short stories during the prolonged monsoon rains, and eventually published four books in his native language.
